Shipping traffic via the Suez Canal called into question after hijackings and shelling off the Yemeni coast

|   Dastex news

Since the escalation of the danger situation in the Red Sea, several well-known shipping companies have cancelled passages through this sea area or rerouted them via the longer Cape route.

The situation is very dynamic, as the necessary rerouting of ships is already leading to considerable shortages of cargo space. This is likely to become even more acute as the ships will not arrive there in time on their return journey to Asia due to the extended transit time, resulting in a lack of shipping space and equipment.
