At the Lounges 2026 event in Karlsruhe, Dr Axel Müller (OHB) spoke in his presentation about the challenging cleanliness requirements involved in the construction and planned commissioning of the ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) experimental nuclear fusion reactor in Cadarache, southern France. Dastex is proud to be part of the cleanliness concept, supplying customized covers made from the cleanroom textile ION-NOSTAT VI.2. Their role is to protect critical components of the future reactor from contamination during the multi-year construction phase and throughout the planned start-up phase. In addition, these textile structures must ensure that technicians and installation engineers can access the covered components at any time for tasks such as routine maintenance – without having to remove most of the covers. Thanks to their cleanability, the covers can be reused – a further significant advantage over disposable solutions.
