At the LOUNGES 2026 CLEANROOM PROCESSES, the specialised fairs near Karlsruhe (Germany), Dr Axel Müller (OHB System AG) spoke in his presentation about the challenging cleanliness requirements involved in the construction and planned commissioning of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) on the site of Cadarache, Southern France.

Dastex Group GmbH is proud to be part of the cleanliness concept, supplying customized covers made from the cleanroom textile ION-NOSTAT VI.2. Their role is to protect critical components of the future reactor from contamination during the multi-year construction phase and throughout the planned start-up phase. In addition, these textile structures must ensure that technicians and installation engineers can access the covered components at any time for tasks such as routine maintenance – without having to remove the covers entirely. Thanks to their cleanability respectively their ability to be decontaminated, the covers can be reused – a further significant advantage over disposable solutions.
